Born of Singaporean and Japanese heritage, Yumiko had her first hosting gig back in 2004, when she was 15. She has obtained a Diploma in Events Management and Tourism & Hospitality Management. Fluent in English, with a curious appetite for knowledge, Yumiko is always on the ball, waiting to spring in a word of wit, or simply, to entertain you with her girly charm.
Her achievements in 2016 would include standing in as a radio DJ for 91.3fm and won runner-up title for 987 Star 2016 (MediaCorp’s 98.7fm). She was the show producer for Class 95’s “Muttons in the Morning” and she is now on-air Class95 for Saturdays.
In 2007, she worked with the Singapore Night Safari, on board one of their attractions; the tram ride through the safari. She was an English commentator for two years, where she was further mentored and coached by a current radio DJ, who was also a prominent voice for voice-overs on television commercials on Suria, Singapore’s Malay television channel.
Through the years, Yumiko has hosted for various types of events big and small. Her voice is powerful and definitely one that speaks volume. Her voice-overs can be heard in various malls, supermarkets, and Singapore Discovery Centre. She is also the face and voice for all Toys’r’Us events, promotions, and social media. She has also hosted many weddings and corporate shows as well.
