I run a vintage shop with my dad and we have a 1,000sqft warehouse full of vintage items that we rent out as props as well. My dad has been a collector for decades and he is our resident heritage consultant on recreating any scene from the past, eg, an old Kopitiam, provision shop, coolie quarters, etc. In particular, he has collected many vintage manual tools of various trades prevalent in the past.
In 2005 for SG50, with a grant from the SG50 Celebration Fund, we created an exhibition called The Tools That Built Singapore, showing the vintage tools of 20 different trades, here’s a link to the FB page
We are a prop supplier for vintage items, as well as a heritage consultant for productions set in the past.
