EUGENE LEE

Coming from an accounting background with zero knowledge of filmmaking, Eugene took a leap of faith and joined BA(Hons) Film Programme at LASALLE. He found his calling in Cinematography and his learning curve has been exponential ever since. His script for Spirit (2013) was selected for production and was screened at the National Library and Library@Orchard. Eugene has had opportunities to shoot a few short films including AWOL (2014) which was nominated for Best Cinematography in the inaugural National Youth Film Awards 2015. Si which was directed by Eugene, was also screened at the European Film Festival preceding a foreign feature, SAUL: THE JOURNEY TO DAMASCUS.

Specialising in Cinematography, Eugene has shot one of the thesis films Ave Maria. Like an energiser bunny, Eugene keeps going out and find opportunities to learn from the industry. He crewed on the feature film now known as Standing in Still Water (2014) as a production assistant. In 2015 the short film (The Boy) he shot was nominated Best Cinematography in the National Film Youth Award. His thesis film Ave Maria (2016) has the opportunity to have world premier in the Freshwave International Short Film Festival 2018 at Hong Kong.

Over the years, Eugene has worked with many industry professionals and crewed on different productions ranging from tv commercials to music videos.

Eugene is working full time at Little Red Ants Creative Studio practicing Cinematography. With an unwavering heart and blazing passion for cinematography, Eugene aims to raise the standards in the local film industry in the decades to come.
